Siesta Beach is a beach unlike anywhere else, with sands that are made up mostly of pulverized coral, Siesta Beach’s sand is 99% quartz, most of which comes from the Appalachian Mountains. The locals call it “Sugar Sand” because of how soft the sands feels on your feet. The beach also has the most square footage for beach goers to lounge and enjoy a day at the beach. Siesta Key public beach also has 3 lifeguard stands with lifeguards on duty most days, until 5:00pm.
